Welcome to Robokong
Team 2493 Robokong, started its journey in 2008 by earning the Highest Rookie Seed Award. Each year, the team continued to grow and build its skills. Throughout our FIRST journey as a team, we have strived to live by our team motto: Always Find A Way. Team members continue to develop the necessary skills to build a robot safely and effectively. We truly are building the engineers and entrepreneurs of the future, as 90 percent of our alumni continue on to study an engineering or science field in college. Team members are required to keep up with school work, maintain their GPAs and provide a minimum of 30 hours of community service. FIRST has inspired team members to make the right choices and be involved, helpful citizens in their community. Our team enjoys teaching others about robotics and inspiring them to choose a STEM pathway. Every team member gets their hands on the robot. All team members have the opportunity to learn to CAD in Solidworks, to program in Labview and C++, to be involved in mechanical and electrical construction.
Our team is like a tree.
As the first Inland Empire team, we have built strong roots in Southern California by helping the Inland Empire become exposed to the F.I.R.S.T. Organization. We grow and change each season, and our branches continue to reach out to surrounding communities to bring robotics to schools and events. We hope to inspire teams and be the foundation of F.I.R.S.T in the Inland Empire for many years to come.
What does F.I.R.S.T. mean to us?
FIRST allows students to build robots, work as a team and compete in fast-paced competitions against other students just as passionate about learning. FIRST teaches us skills such as effective communication, problem solving, teamwork, how to find solutions rather than excuses, time management, budgeting limited resources, and how to be flexible. FIRST is about inspiring the next generation of engineers and scientists in our community and giving them the drive they need to accomplish their goals.
