Wanted to update you on the latest news about the robot.
We weighed the robot last night and it came it at 135lbs. Our limit is 120lbs. So we are working on plans to lighten the robot before we have to bag it on Tuesday.
The lift is nearly working. Having trouble intaking a cube, but we were able to lift a cube and score it on the SCALE. We have a plan in place to fix this and are currently executing on it.
Working on ramps to make them more stable on the robot, adding a cylinder for the lift and figuring out ways to reduce weight. We are actively exploring options for reducing the weight of the ramps.
Priorities are as follows
1. Working intake
2. Reduce weight of robot to be bagged on Tuesday as much as possible (adding holes to .125 pieces)
3. Reduce weight of ramps
4. Working ramps
There is always an option to drop the ramps and replace with a climber, but there are plenty of pros/cons with this option that need to be fully explored.
Bottom line, there is still a lot to do to get a functioning robot in the bag by Tues Feb 20th. Please keep this in mind as we work thru our last few days before BAG DAY. As a team, we can get this done if we all stay focused and work smart.
